Player profile

Born in 1997, winger Harry Wilson joined Liverpool at under 9 level and rose through the age groups to become a full time member of the under 18s squad for 2013-14. He finished the season as joint top scorer and was rewarded with his first professional contract in the summer. By this time he was already a Welsh international, having come on as a late substitute against Belgium in October 2013 at the age of just 16 years and 207 days. This made him both Wales and Liverpool's youngest ever international but although he featured in the club's tour of the Far East and Australia in the summer of 2015 he had to remain patient. He spent the first half of 2015-2016 on loan at Crewe and was rewarded with a new Liverpool contract at the end of the season. After impressing with the under 23s, he made his debut on 18th January 2017, coming on as a second half substitute in an FA Cup replay at Plymouth.
