Player Notes:
Tall and strongly built left-winger Satterthwaite made his debut on 16th December 1899 for an away fixture at Nottingham Forest and scored a hat-trick in only his second appearance against Glossop FC at Anfield. He played 21 games and scored 5 goals in the 1900-01 championship season. Although he was selected for the opening two First Division fixtures of the 1901-02 season, he then lost his place and played on only four more occasions for the club's first-team.

Satterthwaite got his career back on track with West Ham in the Southern League in 1903-4 and joined 1st division debutants Woolwich Arsenal in 1904 and earned the distinction of being the first player who scored a 1st division goal in Arsenal's history, who dropped the "Woolwich" from their name in 1914. He was Arsenal's leading scorer in two of his first three seasons and played a total of 178 games and scored 70 goals in his six year spell at the London club.
