Forward Kyle was selected for 4 of the first 5 league matches of the 1899-1900 season, but lost his place to John Walker and didn't figure for the club again, except for one further appearance in the FA cup replay with Stoke City at Anfield on 1st February 1900. Kyle was a much travelled player who stayed usually for a short while at each club as he was beset with disciplinary problems. Kyle's most prolific spell came at First Division Arsenal from 1906-8 where he scored 23 goals in 60 appearances for the Gunners.
