    The stadium where Liverpool played this match was also known as the Prater Stadion and Wiener Stadion. The stadium was renamed in honour of Austrian player and coach Ernst Happel following his death in 1992, Happel having guided Feyenoord to the European cup in 1970 and Hamburg to the same title in 1983. Further modernisation saw the stadium being used at the Euro 2008 tournament and it hosted the final between Spain and Germany.
