We have been working on this detailed list on and off for the last couple of years and taken great care to get it as accurate as possible. We are finally confident enough in the list to let go and hopefully someone can help with a couple of details that are still missing for a few players. Enjoy!

235 internationals, who have featured for 38 nations, have played for Liverpool. Not all of these players were on Liverpool‘s books while selected for their country. Some were experienced internationals that the illustrious reputation of Liverpool tempted to Anfield while others became internationals after their departure from Liverpool. In later years a move to Liverpool pretty much guarantees a player international recognition.

The English national team has the largest number of representatives in this elite group, 77 in total, of which 59 are playing at Liverpool while chosen for England. Thomas Bradshaw was Liverpool's first player to achieve international honours when he played his only game for England on 20th February 1897 vs Ireland.

A number of record holders for various countries have played for Liverpool beside Kenny Dalglish. Jari Litmanen is the record appearance holder for Finland with 128 caps and still counting and his compatriot Sami Hyypia has also passed the 100 mark with 101 caps. Steve Staunton is the top man for Republic of Ireland with 102 caps and Rigobert Song has played 127 internationals for Cameroon and is still going strong.
